Today (I wrote this text on the 24th of April 2025), I made 17k steps while doing street photography.
I must admit I do not remember when I made so many steps during one photo walk. Of course, I managed to do it because I was a light traveler. I did not have a heavy rucksack on my back and shoulders. The last time I was walking with a heavy backpack was six days ago, when I had an additional weight of 32 kg (71 lbs) on my back and shoulders. Tomorrow, I think I will take a break from walking. Why? Because the day after tomorrow, I plan to return to rucking. Why did I have a break? Because six days ago I had back pains due to sitting longer in my office job.
How do I feel after taking 17k steps and taking photos on Warsaw’s streets?
The photography part was exhilarating, capturing the essence of the city in each frame. Similarly, when I took 10k steps, I had a 32 kg burden on my back and shoulders – tired. How happy I am that the weekend is slowly coming and that I will be able to sleep a minimum of ten hours for two days. Undoubtedly, thanks to doing it, I will be able to do 10k steps with a heavy burden. Do I plan to take 17k steps with 32k baggage on my back? Undoubtedly, not during the upcoming days or weeks.
My muscles have to grow before I try to take 17k steps. Today, I was walking for two and a half hours. With an additional burden, my walk would take approximately 4 hours. I have no doubts about it. I would have to take breaks. For today, I am truly happy if I manage to walk 10k steps with a heavy rucksack.
