I feel like a composer. I compose and create compositions.
The more I do street photography, write texts, prepare subsequent “Diaries'” editions, and create sets of pictures like “Negation Of The End” or the “Road To Nowhere,” the more I feel I compose visually. Or, I compose by mixing photographs with texts? It rarely happens while preparing subsequent posts to be published on the www.adammazek.com website. Often, images are not connected with texts. Usually, photographs are only background with readers, without any connections. I would say my pictures presented in posts, such as this one, are often simple, free illustrations of my thoughts without any relations. Instead, I focus on cleverly combining images with texts while designing collections of pictures.
You can find other examples of how I do it in such sets of photographs like “Living in Poland” or “Inspired by Tolkien.”
While writing all these things, I googled what “compose” means. According to the Oxford Languages site, to compose means “write or create (a work of art, especially music or poetry).” Undoubtedly, I do not create music and poetry. Still, I have no doubts that I simply make something out of nothing. I grant gray reality new dimensions. The truth is that I want to create a symphony based on the mundane reality surrounding most of us. Of course, creating symphonies is dedicated to musicians. Still, I do not see why I should avoid such musical and visual comparisons.
The truth is that I often take inspiration from musicians with The Beatles, Jethro Tull, David Bowie, or Metallica at the forefront. While writing about all these things, I started to wonder what I would compose in the future. For today, I have a few ideas (e.g., something like “Mazek in Color” or “Inspired By Google” or to continue the “Living in Poland” and “Inspired By Tolkien” projects). However, I must still determine what I will create as a composer.
