It is hard for me to explain, but I usually feel a desire to buy a book.
I wrote it many times here, on the www.adammazek.com website, that I love to read. It is one of my favorite activities when I want to physically rest. I like to lie down on my couch in our house, take a book to my hand, and read as much as it is possible. On the other hand, when I have my laptop turned on, I like to write new texts or add new posts to my website. The fact is that I feel joy when I surf through the website of my favorite publishing houses and my favorite book store, situated in Warsaw, named Bookoff. I think that I am somehow addicted to exploring new books via the Internet.Â
What are my favorite publishing houses?
I know that I wrote it many times before, but because I do not know when and who would start to read my blog, I sometimes do repetitions in some information. My favorite publishing houses are Taschen, Phaidon, Thames & Hudson, or Hatje Cantz Verlag. Undoubtedly, I prefer to hold paper books of the publishing houses mentioned earlier than surfing on their websites. Still, I often analyze which books I would buy in the near and remote future. I already possess a collection of books, but the fact is that I did not finish reading most of them. Thus, I usually try to fight with my desire to buy a book. I know that possessing many magnificent books does not mean too much unless they are read. If they are only an ornament of the house, I do not buy books to satisfy such desires.
Nevertheless, if someone possesses a magnificent collection of books, it is always lovely to look at them. For me, such a mini-library could be the most beautiful ornament of one’s house.
