In this post, I will provide the most inspiring books about the Universe.
I mentioned many times that I love reading. I also love reading science-fiction books and scientific books describing the Universe by mixing science and art. So what are my favorite books about the Universe? Below you will find a list with a short substantiation. Here we go!
-
I love reading Stanislaw Lem’s science fiction books.
Unfortunately, I did not read all of them. From the books written by one of my favorite writers, I would recommend: „The Star Diaries,” „The Invincible,” „Eden,” „Memoirs Found in a Bathtub,” and „Solaris.” All these books provide a lot of knowledge and unimaginable incentives, thanks to which we can also create new things. We can find one example in my works, like „Earth Wars” or „Back to the past.”
- Norman Mailer’s „MoonFire. The Epic Journey of Apollo 11” (published by Taschen.) Get it if you want to receive a mix of the highest value content with remarkable illustrations describing Americans’ journey to the Moon. For moon lovers, this position is a must.
- Mark Holborn’s „Sun and Moon” (published by Phaidon). If you want to get familiar with the history of humankind’s exploration of the Universe, starting with the painted in the cave the first map of the night sky, discovered in Lascaux, and finishing with the visual exploration of the Universe thanks to the Hubble space telescope, this position is for you.
- „Expanding Universe. The Hubble Space Telescope” (published by Taschen). If you are looking for unbelievable, ostensible abstract, almost science-fiction-look-like pictures of the Universe made by The Hubble Space Telescope, this edition is for you.
Undoubtedly, I will recommend more books in the future. For today (I wrote this post on the 13th of October 2020), I read Phaidon’s „Universe.” Although I still haven’t finished reading this book, I can also recommend it to you, my Dear Friend. In this position, we can find many great cosmos’ visuals comparables between science and art.
