This text is a reference to the previous post entitled „About the Universe.”
In the text „About the Universe,” I wrote, among others, the list of books about the Universe that I finished reading. Today (I wrote this text on the 19th of January, 2022), I won’t update the list of books. Why? Because currently, I am still reading a few more books about the cosmos, but I haven’t finished analyzing them yet. The truth is that the „About the Universe” post provided me the incentive. After having a fresh mind after exposing my body to coldness, I realized that basically, our thoughts about the cosmos, concerning its mystery, immensity, unattainability, and our (ostensible?) insignificance in it, are similar to the opinions of people from previous centuries, including ancient times. Of course, today, thanks to, among others, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), we have much more knowledge than the ancients.
However, I think that the more we know and discover, the more questions and doubts appear. For example, I will give the words: dark energy and dark matter.
We still do not know the fundamental nature and laws that govern dark matter and dark energy.
Is that mean that we will never get to know them? I do not know. I believe that humanity will solve its mysteries in the future. Still, there are many other questions unrealized. Is there only one dimension? Are we alone, or maybe there are some aliens out there? I believe that even if we solve all mysteries mentioned above, there will be many more subsequent questions to explain. It is not only the single human being that learns throughout one’s life, but we, as human civilization, will also be discovering, exploring, and answering many issues that we will face in the future. I believe every human life’s aim is to try to find a Universal truth, even if I am convinced we will never know this truth.
