Last time I thought that we should not ask ourselves what Art can bring and give to us. But, we should better focus on what we can do for the Art.
By asking this question, I realized that we are giving an added value to society by creating Art. There was a short period when I was dreaming about earning a lot of money on my art. I asked myself how I can get rich by taking photographs? I think that almost all of the photographers think the same. Today, I see the senselessness of this question. For me, the aim of taking tonnes of pictures and running this website is not to earn a fortune. I want to inspire other people in the same way as famous artists previously inspired me.
As David Hockney said, humans possess a primordial desire to create, to record, surrounding reality.
The primordial tribes, by placing the stones as we can see in Stonehenge or by painting the animals in their caves, were the first artists of humankind. Did they do it to earn money? They did not know the money. I believe that the purpose was much more far-reaching. I am convinced that they wanted to communicate both with their contemporaries and with us, with their descendants. But why?
I believe that they were already aware that they would not live on this planet for thousands of years. By leaving a trace by creating paintings, sculptures, etc., they wanted to tell us something about themselves. They tried to describe and visualize their feelings. For me, this kind of activity is one of the most valuable things people can do for each other.
I believe that Art (and its history) is an extended, eternal both dialogue and monologue of the people from all over the world, and from all the times since humans started to create.
Now, I hope that you know, my Dear Guest, what I mean that we should not do the Art only for ourselves. But also for other people, both our contemporaries and descendants.
