Sometimes I feel that I simultaneously love and hate AI. I wouldn’t say I like it because I am addicted to scrolling on my iPhone. On the other hand, I love it because I discovered many new, good things for myself.
I am not an exception. I know that nowadays, many people (especially those who are much younger than me [I am thirty-three years old]) are addicted to their smartphone/tablet. Social media websites are constructed so that they want us to keep in the virtual world as long as possible. The conception of getting likes on Facebook or Instagram became one of the most crucial parts of our lives. Unfortunately, it also touches the artistic side of our activity. I still do not want to possess an official fan page on Facebook because I do not want to become the slave of the “likes.” What is worse, I hate AI because the algorithms placed there are very efficient regarding giving advertisements.
For me, the algorithms are even too efficient.
I’m not too fond of Artificial Intelligence because I know that I’m addicted to it. I suppose that I am addicted to sitting on my laptop. Also, I know that I’m wasting my time while doing it. It’s one of the worst things which could happen to us. But, as I mentioned in the first part of this post, I also love Artificial Intelligence. I love the AI because thanks to Youtube’s algorithms, I re-discovered some songs. What songs? For example, David Bowie’s “Life on Mars?”, Dire Straits’ “Romeo and Juliet” or The Rolling Stones’ “Waiting for a friend.” Probably, it would take long years for me to discover these songs. Youtube very efficiently proposed them on my Youtube account. As we can see, we can bot love and hate not only other people but also AI.
Is there another reason why I could love AI?Â
Yes. Undoubtedly, it is possible to manage this website and publish my artwork to be seen by the whole world. Nevertheless, I will write about it in a separate post.
