Last time I had some thoughts regarding American culture. Why do I admire it?
Indeed, why do I like Americans? Not for planning to build a military base in Poland, undoubtedly. Do I love them for Donald Trump’s politics linked with making an enormous wall on the American-Mexican border? No. To be honest: I do not like politics. I love them and admire them for being the ablest to sell their culture to other nations. For example, their cinema (broadly defined “Hollywood”) is the most and most widely spread all over the world.
American cinematography is one of the most popular branches of culture which ever existed. Americans advertised themselves better than others.
American culture is more popular than Japanese, Hindu, European, or Chinese. The fact is that thanks to watching American movies if one travels to the USA, he will feel like he is at home. Indeed, it was me, who experienced this remarkable feeling. I already wrote in one of my previous posts that I visited the USA in 2006. I remember this journey as a trip to the place which was known to me.
While being there, I heard that this feeling like you are at home, while being in the USA, is thanks to the widely popular American culture. Classic movies provided to the whole world by people like Walt Disney, Stanley Kubrick, or George Lucas, had and still have an enormous impact for the entire humankind. Of course, there are also other superstars from a broadly defined American culture that impacted the rest of the world. To mention Bob Dylan, Steven Spielberg, Michael Jackson, or Madonna.
I believe that thanks to American culture, the USA gained power in one of the most peaceful ways. Their culture is one of the most hard-to-destroy weapons which ever existed.
