Can we consider art as an escape?
I believe that we can often consider art as an escape. My creative activity is not an exception. I sometimes feel my wandering as escapism.
From what do you want to escape?
Undoubtedly, you could ask me, my Dear Friend. I believe that the hint to the answer we can find in the first post published on the www.adammazek.com website. In the post entitled „Adam Mazek’s Photographs.” I wrote:
I think that very essential for every human being is to find a peaceful and quiet place. This place not necessarily should be hidden somewhere, in physical terms, but I am writing about our souls, minds, and hearts. I want to find such a place in my inner soul.
Creating new things: taking photos on Warsaw’s streets, writing new texts, and preparing additional editions of „Diaries” or sets of pictures like „Negation of the End,” „Inspired by Tolkien,” or „Big Brother,” undoubtedly helped me in finding a peaceful place on this world. While doing all these things, I can easily contemplate many issues. Somewhat, it is an escape for me from the external world of bad news or taking part in a rats’ race. I believe that all people sometimes should escape from external factors and stimuli. I love my life.
Moreover, I love my Kamilka and my Parents. I like my job in accountancy.
I do not have to escape from anything. Still, being at peace is a state of mind everyone should have. Art provides the solution to this issue. I wrote this text on the 24th of January, 2022. How happy I am that I do not have to escape from anything, including tanks or bombs. I found inner peace on my blog and in the broadly defined creative process. This process is my escape from mundane reality into the world of my imaginary visions.
