I would like to know if art historians and cyber-archeologists will divide my creative oeuvre into artistic periods.
I wrote this text on the 10th of December, 2022. It was a day when I could state that I regularly do street photography for over seven years (I started doing it in October 2015). Moreover, it was a day when I could state that I have been managing the www.adammazek.com website for more than five years (I started doing it in September 2017). I believe that I will be creatively productive for the next sixty years. That’s why everything you read on my blog, my Dear Friend, we could consider as the early period of my artistic activity. I can imagine my favorite publishing house, German Taschen, will publish an anthology of all my works in 2100. Am I vain by writing such forecasts?
Perhaps I am. Still, most people with an Instagram account are simply vain.
While writing all these things, I started to wonder what my artistic periods would be. Do I stick to street photography for my entire life? Will I add something new to my creative activity, like drawings? The truth is that I still haven’t drawn anything since my childhood. So maybe I will focus on writing? Will I start to write in my mother tongue, Polish, or will I continue writing in English? I do not know. Perhaps tomorrow, I will walk, and the car will hit me. Thus, it will be the end of my artistic activities and life.
How happy I am that I do not know what the future holds for me. That’s why every single day seems to me very interesting. Still, sometimes, I dream of traveling in time and analyzing all the works of art I made throughout my life. While writing about all these things, I realized it is better we do not know the future.
