At last I felt tremendous cold while walking and doing street photography.
I wrote this text on the 13th of October, 2024. It was a cold and rainy day in Warsaw. Even though the weather was harsh, I decided to go out to ruck, get cold, and photograph whatever caught my eye. It was 9 degrees Celsius (48.2 degrees Fahrenheit), and I was soaked soon after leaving home. While rucking (I was walking with a rucksack filled with an additional 12 kg [26 lbs] of barbell plates), I felt tremendous joy because it was the first time when I was feeling freezing cold (the water from the rain only increased my vulnerability towards feelings chilling cold) for many months. Still, I think I will remember this rucking for another reason.
In the middle of my walk, my Nikon D-90 stopped working.
I was writing this text in the evening, and during that time, even though it seemed the camera was already dry, it still did not work. I think I will have to take it to the repair service. Luckily, my beloved Kamilka has another camera (Canon; I do not remember which model exactly it is), and I will be able to use this camera as a substitute. Perhaps it was the last day I took photos with a Nikon D-90 (I bought it in February 2012). Am I sad? No.
I do not want to be emotionally attached to material things, with a car, smartphone, or a camera at the forefront.
Material things are simply tools that help me accomplish my tasks and activities. I do not live to serve them. Yesterday, I took pictures with a Nikon D-90; tomorrow, I will do it with a Canon. That’s how it works. The most crucial thing for me is that the season for cooling my body outside by walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures is officially open. At last!
