Sometimes I wonder if I like to boast about my photographs. In general, I think that the answer is affirmative.
The idea to write this post came to me while thinking about my previous most-frequently-doing hobby, swimming. The fact is that I was swimming regularly for ~7 years. During those times, I was genuinely amazed and almost euphoric every time I finished swimming. After one hour and forty minutes, the feeling of stretching muscles underwater produced many endorphins in my body. Undoubtedly, I was happy while doing that.
But, one year after I gave up swimming (to be able to take photographs more often), I realized one thing.
I realized that swimming was a hobby in which I could not boast as much as in photography. Okay, I was telling my family or friends something like this:
Today I swam for one hour and forty minutes. I feel like a young God now.
They usually replied:
Wow! That’s great!
And usually, it was the end of the topic of my biggest passion. Thanks to photography, I possess clear evidence of my hobby. I can chat with others and tell them:
Take a look at this picture. I made this photo today.
Where did you shoot it?
Well, it was in…
I hope that you understand what I mean, my Dear Friend. Thanks to a new passion, I can boast of my activity. By blowing one’s horn regarding my hobby, I do not necessarily mean only boasting in front of the audience during my vernissage (I have already done two photography exhibitions).
It was the small talk that made me fun regarding talking about my hobby. That is why I generally like to boast about my photographs. Speaking shortly: I do not see anything wrong with that.
