Last time I had some thoughts regarding sharing one’s photographs. The fact is that between October 2016 and September 2017, I did not publish any of my photos. I had a break.
Was it a conscious choice? Yes, it was. Before 2016 I uploaded some pictures only on my Facebook private account. But, in October 2016, I noticed that publishing photographs on Facebook was insufficient for me. I wanted something more. I did not know how to post my pictures for almost a year. I wanted to present my photos differently than usual, showing them on Facebook. Later on, I decided to make my website and focus only on this channel for publishing. The break was over. I started to run the www.adammazek.com website in September 2017.
Nevertheless, it took me almost one year to determine how I wanted to show my pictures online.
In this post, I want to stress that if you’re going to publish your photographs and you do not know how to do it (Social media apps are not enough for you), take your time, and take a break regarding publishing photos. My interval, which lasted almost one year, gave me a lot of opportunities to think and analyze what photographs I wanted to show and how I wanted them to be presented online. It was the time when I decided to publish not only my photography but also my texts, which I started to write in May 2017. For today, my pictures are often only an illustrative addition to my writing.
Speaking shortly: I believe the break I made when I stopped posting photos on my private Facebook was excellent for my artistic activity.
Remember, my Dear Friend, that the fact that I did not publish photos does not mean that I did not make them either. Contrary. I walked down the streets when it was only possible, hungry for subsequent shots from the streets of Warsaw. The pictures presented in this post are those I made during my longest-in-publishing break.
