Coronavirus is a significant danger both for people’s health and lives. We all know it. Thus, today I will focus on the fact that it is also a danger for my hobby.
Is it right and ethical to write about my passion, when people all over the world are dying due to the pandemic of the virus? Yes. If I were dying because of the disease, I would not mind that if some other guy would be writing about his passion. Life goes on. We cannot think that if the whole world struggles to fight the pandemic, we should think only about dying people. We all possess needs. One of mine is the desire to describe everything that appears in my head. Even scientists encouraged to write down all feelings during a pandemic. I did not have to wait for the catastrophe to write down my thoughts and describe my feelings.
Nevertheless, I can simply imagine that notes from the time of pandemic can become crucial information for posterity.
Thus, if I write about coronavirus during the pandemic in Poland, I provide an accurate date of my writing. This post I wrote on the 7th of April 2020. So what is the result of the struggle coronavirus vs. hobby? In this post, I want to inform you that for street photographers, coronavirus is a challenging enemy. The government strongly advises you to go out of your house only when there is a necessity (e.g., if you want to get to your work, if you’re going to go to pharmacy or grocery store). During the time of the pandemic, taking photos on the streets is strongly tricky.
On the other hand, I write a lot. I am preparing new things (with “Diaries” at the forefront) for my website.
Undoubtedly, writing is a replacement of my passion when we talk about taking pictures on the streets. Moreover, during the pandemic, I also have more time to read books. To summarize, I want to stress that in the battle between coronavirus vs. hobby, the virus will lose. In this particular battle, I am the winner.
