By raising this question, I do not think of becoming immortal in a physical way.
I am sure that if I received everlasting life (in real terms), it would be the worst nightmare I could imagine. I feel that being imprisoned on our planet, on our whole world would be real disaster and torment for me.
Back to the central question, I am questioning about becoming immortal somehow in a spiritual way. Of how can we eternalize ourselves in the people’s memories.
I think that there are two ways to become immortal:
1) Proper, responsible, and wise child-rearing.
I am sure that if you accomplish this tough and challenging task, you can become immortal by way of how your children will behave during their adulthood. You can get “eternal life” if the people who will be raised by you will bring to the world, to the society a positive, added value.
2) By creating art.
I am sure that is the second way to receive “indestructible life.” Maybe I will give you some of the examples of people who inspire me: Seneca, Leonardo da Vinci, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Anton Chekhov, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Stanislaw Lem, Stanley Kubrick, Freddie Mercury or David Bowie. Not enough? I am pretty sure that you can give me a lot of other examples of the people (painters, musicians, writers, photographers – in general – ARTISTS and philosophers), who live in eternal life. This life is present in humankind’s memory.
I am sure that everyone can become immortal. You can create any art you want. You can paint, sing, write, photograph or dance.
CREATE! I believe it is the keyword to receive a “never-ending” life. It is only up to you whether you want to be creative. The decision is yours. If you’re going to add part of yourself to society, do it.
To summarize. Be a real human; be yourself. I encourage you to believe in your self, follow your intuition. Be helpful to other people. Love your family and friends. Also – be creative.
That’s enough for today. I’m just shutting down my computer, and I’m going for a walk. I want to take some pictures. I want to live forever. And you, my Dear Friend?
