Cyber-archeologists

January 18, 2020 by Adam Mazek

Today I will write about cyber-archeologists. I am convinced that it is only a matter of time before such a profession will appear.

I can imagine cyber maniacs who will comb through the early stages of the Internet era. Who will these people be? For example, highly specialized scientists and art restorers will be doing highly advanced and specialized research regarding distant artistic activities. Whose activities? Also, for example, mine.

Additionally, I can imagine cyber-archeologists as art lovers, people fascinated by my works of art.

They will be searching the dim and distant past of the Internet to get the first original files of my photographs, which have been published. They will be analyzing, arranging again in chronicle order, all my posts, publications, etc. My blogging is an assignment for posterity. Also, I hope that it will also be fun for them. I wonder how they will reproduce my artwork. It will probably happen a few hundred years after my death. I am convinced there will be a few crazy researchers, art enthusiasts, IT specialists, and, finally, scientists who will take up the challenge to rediscover my photographs and publications.

What can all these people try to restore? My pictures, texts, posts, and PDF files (e.g., “Diaries” or “Ostensible abstraction”).

For what reason will they be doing it? To rediscover once again for humanity, a photographic hobbyist devoted his life to photography. I can imagine my website will disappear hundreds of years after my death. I am convinced that for many people interested in a broadly defined art, my name will be known. Thus, the demand to restore the original of my photographs, texts, etc., will be high.
Did I write before that I like to dream aloud? Undoubtedly yes. This post is an example of it. Stanislaw Lem gave an unbelievable inspiration to muse aloud about what can happen in the future. The post about the cyber-archeologist profession will be another brick in the wall in all my artistic activity. What about you, my Dear Friend? Do you dream aloud in terms of science fiction?
