Districts of Warsaw

March 24, 2021 by Adam Mazek

I rarely mentioned places where I take photographs. In this post, I will provide a little more details regarding the districts of Warsaw, where I take pictures.

I live in Warsaw, the Mokotow district since 2004. I moved to Warsaw a few months after Poland joined the European Union. Since that time, I had been a keen observer of all changes that occurred in the capital of Warsaw. I was the witness of how the city was, and still is developing and transforming. The fact is that I did not start to take photographs on the streets of Warsaw since the very beginning.

In 2004 I already possessed a small handy-compact-camera, but I used it to photograph my private life instead. I am writing about all these things because I want to stress that the regular taking photos on the streets of Warsaw I began in 2015. Between 2012 and 2015, I already made photographs on the streets of the capital of Poland, but it happened somewhat accidentally. Luckily, since 2015 I managed to shots almost all districts of Warsaw.

I believe that it will be easier for me to write on which districts I still did not take pictures of. These districts are Bialoleka, Rembertow, Wesola, and Wawer.

Regarding all the rest districts, I already made tonnes of pictures there. The fact is that I managed to walk along with almost-all-areas like Mokotow, Ursynow, Ochota, Wola, Srodmiescie, and Bemowo. Do I possess my favorite district? I love to live in the Mokotow district. That’s probably why I would choose this particular district as my favorite.

Nevertheless, regarding walking, I do not have a preferred district. Every corner of the capital of Poland possesses its uniqueness. Every region is attractive to photographers. Oh, I forgot. I already wrote in one of my previous posts that there aren’t dull and boring places for photographers. I believe that every kind of location is proper to photograph.
