Sometimes, I wonder whether I should be afraid of what everyone is scared of.
Most people are afraid of death, loss of beloved loved ones, loss of health (including mental breakdown), and loss of job, money, and wealth. Unfortunately, I am not an exception. I must admit it: I am sometimes afraid of things written above. When it happens, I start to ask myself whether I should be afraid of what everyone is scared of. The answer is practically always the same: I do not have to be fearful of anything. After all, no matter what I do, the road will lead me to death. And what is death? It is the end. I do not know if it is the beginning of something else. Still, with my death, all my worries and problems will vanish with me. So why should I worry about all aspects of life?
Why should I worry about money or health?
No matter what I do, I will die. Life is the inevitable road to death. That’s why I want to encourage not only you, my Dear Friend, but also myself not to be afraid of anything. Did something terrible happen to me last time that I decided to write this text? No, nothing wrong happened to me last time. Still, sometimes I have a lousy mood (like most of us) when worrying about my personal life. It does not happen often. While writing about all these things, I reminded myself that it is impossible to eliminate all the worries in one’s life.
No matter how potent, mentally and physically, we become, we will always worry about something. That’s the human nature, I believe. Still, I should become more courageous and not be afraid of anything and anyone. After all, he who frightens others trembles himself with fear. It was not me who wrote the last sentence but Seneca, a stoic philosopher.
