Between the 12th and 18th of August, 2025, I had been doing street photography for seven days in a row.
Today (I wrote this text on the 19th of August, 2025), I had to let it go. Yesterday, I wrote that I had a two-day break from rucking. Today, I must state that my break was prolonged to three days, and I did not walk at all (I do not have to mention I was not doing street photography). Why? The reason was prosaic. I overslept. Instead of waking up at 7 a.m. and going to the office, I woke up before 10 a.m. and worked remotely from my home. Yesterday, while writing the “I Had To Let It Go” text, I wrote that I would be walking, doing street photography, and rucking today.
Still, upon realizing I had overslept, I realized I had been walking for seven days in a row (out of which, for five days, I was rucking, including three days I was carrying on my back and shoulders a hectic 37.5 kg of an additional burden [83 lbs]).
I know there were days in the past when I was walking and doing street photography for even ten days in a row. Still, it was a time when I was not walking with an additional heavy burden – I was not rucking at that time. I’ve been repeating many times on my blog that we should listen to ourselves, what our bodies tell us. Mine was telling me to stop and take a rest. And I did. I am not doing all the activities mentioned above to break my personal records. The truth is that I do it for fun. I do it because I love and I cannot imagine my life without all these things. Still, sometimes it simply also means to pause and relax, like I am doing today. But let’s not forget, I do it because I love it.
