The title of the current text is from my previous post, “A hothouse plant.”
The longer I take cold showers, the more I have something to write about this tremendous activity. Today (I wrote this text on the 21st of August, 2022), I want to state that during hot summer days in Warsaw, cold showers are not as cold as in winter. Perhaps, someone who knows many things about water could say why this happens. I have my own assumptions but I won’t write about them today. I am not a specialist in this case. Are these all things mean that cold showers in summer in Poland are not frigid? Of course, they are still cold. Unfortunately, the water’s temperature is not as freezing as in winter. Thus, I do not get as much power as during winter. How I miss this coldest season!
When I imagine during hot days that I can genuinely freeze my body by walking in frigid temperatures and taking a freezing shower, I merely have chills all over my body.
For today, another heatwave for upcoming days is being forecasted in the Polish media. That’s why I have written many times about all these weather issues. Of course, I function and exist relatively typically during hot days, but I prefer colder temperatures. The older I am, the less I understand Polish people who travel south during vacation. They want to warm their bones on the sunny beaches of Egypt, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, or Spain. I am not one of them. The older I become, the more I want to travel north during the holidays. That’s why I prefer the Baltic states, with Latvia at the forefront. Besides, while walking in summer clothes in freezing temperatures, I feel like a superhero, a weirdo who challenges himself to become a better version of himself.
