Efficiency in my creation process.

April 21, 2024 by Adam Mazek

Today, I will write about efficiency in my creation process.

I wish that in writing, creating posts, and preparing future editions of “Diaries,” I could work as efficiently as I do in the office where I work in accountancy. Nevertheless, for my creative passion, it is sometimes necessary to stop, look into the distance (literally and figuratively), look for true inspiration inside myself, and answer why I am preparing what I am working on. In such moments of reflection, one usually has a childlike joy in what one is doing. While contemplating all these things, efficiency in my creation process slows down. For example, there are moments when I am trying to figure out what I want to write about. I have a lack of inspiration and writer’s block. Undoubtedly, during such moments, I could be more efficient.

How do I cope with it? I try to figuratively transform all my thoughts into written words.

That’s how I move forward. That’s how I try to be as efficient as possible when I have moments of weakness. The truth is that I want to lie down on my couch (I always write texts here) and write within twenty minutes. Of course, I managed to do it many times. I do many tasks within twenty minutes in my office job. Still, the truth is that I am not always efficient. Sometimes, I must pause, rest, and think about what I want to write, or conversely, stop thinking. I am only a human. I cannot be efficient all the time. There are tasks in my office job which I can do almost automatically.

Unfortunately, automatization does not work in the art world.

One has to be inspired and get incentives to produce something out of nothing. A similar issue is with street photography. I sometimes walk for the sake of walking. Sometimes, I forget about taking photos and the fact I hold a camera in my hand. I simply contemplate. It is a moment when taking pictures is not an issue. Still, suddenly, my eyes can see something marvelous to photograph, and I do it. I think I will write more about being efficient while doing street photography in the future.
