The last time I realized that I am an egoist. Why?
I am an egoist because everything you see on the website www.adammazek.com, my Dear Friend, I am not doing anything to satisfy anyone’s whims. In this respect, I can confidently say that I am an egoist. I wrote many times here, on the www.adammazek.com website, that artistic independence is one of the most crucial things for me. The truth is that I cannot imagine publishing anything that someone would tell me to post. I wrote this text after listening to David Bowie’s “Station to Station” song. I imagined Bowie’s listening to someone who tells him what he should do. Well, it was hard for me to imagine such a situation. I believe that if it comes to creative independence, Bowie was also an egoist.
Is that mean that my artistic activity is an egoist one?
I do not think so. Contrary. I believe that paradoxically, being an egoist in the creative process positively influences other humans. How? By providing them inspiration and incentives. I do not doubt that being an egoist is a win-win situation in this particular case. It is not only me who feels entirely free thanks to doing whatever I want by doing creative things. Both my contemporaries and future generations will be influenced and inspired by all my doings. It has already happened, but I merely know that I will encourage the masses.
I have no doubt that I must be a creative egoist to do it. There is no other option. If you want to do, what your clients or followers want you to do, better focus on Instagram and collect likes and followers. For me, there is no use in doing it. If I had to do what other people wanted me to do, I would probably stop doing my creative doings.
