I believe that even if humans damage Earth and make it impossible to live for a long time, our planet will establish a new equilibrium to sustain life on it.
In this text, I want to refer to my post from the past about Global Warming. I mentioned there that during the history of our planet, there were five enormous mass extinctions and many others, smaller ones. Moreover, throughout the history of our celestial home, there was a period when Earth did not have any ice caps. Why? Because it was too hot.
On the other hand, there was a time when there was a „Snowball Earth.” It means that the whole surface of our planet was totally covered in ice. Can you imagine, my Dear Friend, that even the equator was full of ice? Moreover, during one of the most disastrous mass extinction that happened 252 million years ago, almost 95% of all marine animal species have gone forever. Is that mean that life disappeared from Earth completely? Of course not. Earth, not the first and last time in its life circle, established a new equilibrium for life.
There is a theory that Earth is a living organism named Gaia.
I do not know if Earth is a living organism. Undoubtedly, everything taking place both on the surface and inside our planet greatly influences people, animals, and plants. I wonder if equilibrium that living organisms are restarting to inhabitate Earth after every mass extinction is something that I will happen until the end of this world. When will be the end of the world? The final deadline will be the year when the sun stops shining. It happens in about 5 billion years. I suppose that perhaps new intelligent species will take over our planet within this period. Or, maybe we have already colonized another planet by taking the last rescue.
