Do you know this part of the World?
I have known Central-Eastern Europe only partially. I was born, and I live in Poland. I’ve already visited the majority of the most known Polish cities (Warsaw, Cracow, Gdansk, Wroclaw, or Szczecin). The same with regions. Bieszczady Mountains, Tatra Mountains, Mazuria lake district, Baltic Sea, Mazovia, or Podlachia are quite familiar to me.
I’ve already also seen such countries in my areas like Lithuania, Ukraine, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania or Croatia. But why do I write about it? I feel that this part of the World is unknown and underestimated somehow (e.g., in comparison to Western Europe, USA, Japan, or Australia). My dream is to travel around countries of Central-Eastern Europe and to make the pictures of cities that are almost unknown worldwide (I will give some of the examples: Malkinia Gorna, Pulawy, Alytus, Stryi, Trnava, Frydek-Mistek, Veszprem, Zalau, Karlovac).
I want to make other people aware of the fact that this part of Europe is worth sightseeing. Moreover, I want to show that we all can find real beauty in places which are known mainly by locals.
I want to prove that!
I am aware of the fact that I will not be able to take pictures of all of the cities in the Central-Eastern Europe region. But, I also hope that I can inspire other people to do that. I plan to affect the citizens of all of these little-known towns. They should be aware that they can try to attract tourist from all over the world. Even if these small cities lack such great tourist attractions like possesses, e.g., Petersburg, Cracow, Praha or Budapest. All I know is that one of the tools to bring the tourists lies in photography. We already possess this magic tool to attract others to visit Central-Eastern Europe.
Fine arts can attract people from all over the world to not only this particular region but also the other parts of our planet.
I am sure that Central-Eastern Europe, with its complicated and confusing history, deserves to become as powerful (thanks to tourism) and known region amongst people, as possible.
