Everywhere I go, I see faces.

November 20, 2021 by Adam Mazek

The titled RUN DMC’s lyrics of the song named “Faces” often echo in my mind. I do not know how it happens, but, indeed, everywhere I go, I see faces.

Another incentive to write this post I found in my blog post that I registered in the past (named: “Publishing people’s faces”). I wrote there something like this:

By the way, I like to recognize people’s faces in mundane reality, but this a plot for a subsequent text.

So, I came back to this post on the 11th of January 2021 (it was the date when I wrote this text). My thoughts are still the same. I unconsciously often try to spot a human face in my surroundings. I do not know why it happens.

One of the best examples of how I can find faces in surroundings are my two posts, named: “Big Brother” and “Earth Wars.”

The first work (I plan to expand this set of pictures to a more readable PDF version in the future) consists of something similar to human face buildings’ facades. I took many similar photos of windows and walls that can resemble humans’ faces. There is only one image in the second work of art where we can find a human appearance, but this one is my favorite one. In today’s post, you will find it as picture number 1. I love to watch how a plastic bag in the bin transforms in my imagination into lips. Moreover, at the same time, small road posts appear as human eyes.

Another thing that I know that can resemble a human’s face is my logo. Practically whenever I watch it, I see a face with a mustache. How is the best artist who can create faces from separate things? Many people were playing with this theme, but for me, the best is Salvador Dali. Undoubtedly, he was the master of presenting humans’ faces in his paintings and sculptures in an unusual manner.
