Finding winter anytime, anywhere: my love for cold showers.
The more I take cold showers, the more I find satisfaction in it. I wrote this text on the 21st of July, 2023. It is the middle of the summer in Poland. Still, there were fewer hot days than in the previous years (as of today). This fact does not prevent me from finding winter anytime, anywhere. In today’s post, I want to stress I love cold showers. Undoubtedly, I am addicted to it. I have done it regularly since April 2021. Four months earlier, I started intermittent fasting. These two issues much improved my health and well-being. I cannot imagine my life with warm and hot showers and eating from dawn to dusk.
All these things are unhealthy.
Intermittent fasting (I do not eat earlier than 7 p.m.) and exposing the body to cold (including cold showers and walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures) are the activities I will do until the end of my life. For many years, I did not appreciate winter. Today, I relish it much more. Winter (also late autumn and early spring) is the period when I can walk in frigid temperatures wearing only summer clothes. Still, cold showers help to remind me of winter, even in the middle of the summer. Of course, cold water during the summer is not as cold as during winter.
However, I can still find winter anytime, anywhere (assuming I have access to cold water).
If you still have doubts, my Dear Friend, about whether to start taking a cold shower or intermittent fasting, I encourage you to give it a try. For me, eating not earlier than 7 p.m. has been a game-changer. As for pouring cold water on your body, I suggest starting with lukewarm water at the end of each shower. Gradually, increase the duration of these cold water sessions, day by day, week by week. You might be surprised by the positive impact it can have on your health and well-being.
