Led Zeppelin’s masterpiece song, “Fool In The Rain,” reminded me that I am often a fool in the rain.
While walking and doing street photography throughout the years (I started doing it in October 2015 and wrote this text on the 27th of May 2024), I got soaked many times on Warsaw’s streets. Each time I think about it, a smile appears on my face. Why? Because I simply enjoy getting wet in the rain. Am I a fool? I may be the one. Deep in my mind, I often laugh to myself, seeing people running away from the rain to avoid getting wet. When I see them, I think the opposite of them. I want the rain to shower my whole being, from head to tiptoes. Since I take cold showers (I started doing it in April 2021) and walk in summer clothes in frigid temperatures (I started doing it during the Fall/Winter season of 2021/2022), I am not afraid of cold anymore.
Thus, I am not afraid I will get pneumonia after getting wet, even in the most frigid temperatures.
While writing all these things, I started to wonder who the absolute fool is: the one who loves cold and getting wet in the rain or the one who avoids cold rain as much as possible. I do not know it. What I know is that I recommend listening to “Fool In The Rain” by Led Zeppelin. Of course, it is a song about love, and each time I listen to it, a smile appears on my face. The same smile was seen when getting wet in the rain.
If you do not know this song, my Dear Friend, I recommend listening to it. Also, if the last time you got soaked in the rain was during your childhood, I recommend, during the nearest rain in your neighborhood, to get out of your home wearing a T-shirt and shorts and simply enjoy the water falling from the sky. If you are afraid of pneumonia, after return, dress in dry and warm clothes. Then, drink hot coffee or tea.
