Last time I saw a charming Gotye’s video clip, named “Somebody that I used to know.” This song was a hit of 2011.
I still remember chilling magic while I was listening to this tune in Polish radio stations. I must admit that I do not try to rate current songs, but in 2011 I knew that “Somebody that I used to know” I will remember until the end of my life. Why I try not to judge current songs? Because I believe that time is the best judgment of any works of art. What was my amazement when after watching a video clip today, Youtube recommended another version of Gotye’s song.
The second version of the hit (including different melody and video clip) was made as it was composed in a magical ’80s.
I must admit that I did not know that Gotye is such a creative band. Their different video clip to the same song is an excellent idea of returning to the past. In a hundred years, when someone will hear and see two different versions of the hit, he will be confused. I am convinced that the listener of the future will think that the “1988 release” is older than the 2011 version. Though it is not. These video clips are from the same year.
I already wrote in one of the previous posts that I do love to play with time.
I do it by publishing my photographs and texts that I made earlier. Even my “Diaries” are my part of playing with time. I take my posts from the past (I published them previously on www.adammazek.com web site), I am re-editing them (including both text and images). Then I am transferring it to a new e-book. I think that it is one of the best ways I can play with time. Gotye also possessed an excellent idea for it. What’s your approach to playing with time, my Dear Friend?
