I decided to write the “Hasselblad for free!” text not only to see how many visitors this catchy phrase would attract to the www.adammazek.com blog.
Still, I know where we can get Hasselblad for free. There are some of them on the Moon. The truth is that the Model 500EL accompanied all of the Apollo missions. A dozen of these cameras have been left on the lunar surface. Only their clear negatives were brought back to Earth. Cameras had to stay on the Moon to meet narrow weight margins for a triumphant return of the Astronauts. I write about all these things as a curiosity. I do not dream of a new camera. Since 2012, I have been using Nikon D90 and do not plan to change it. I wrote this text on the 21st of June, 2024.
For today, I had to only change the lens (18-105VR) in my camera.
It happened one month ago. It simply broke up. I bought the same lens, the used one, and that’s how I still use my Nikon D90. I hope to use it until the end of my life. Still, after my first lens broke up, I think it will be a matter of time before I will have to switch to another camera. For today, I do not think about it. I try not to worry about things that do not exist or perhaps will appear someday in the future. The only thing I worry about is my current, actual issues.
Still, I always try to remind myself that no matter what we do in our lives and no matter which way we go, sooner or later, we will die. Thus, is it necessary to worry about things all the time? I do not think so. It is better to imagine myself walking on the Moon with my Nikon D90 in my hand and trying to find Hasselblads left by NASA astronauts.
