When I was walking in frigid temperatures on the 23rd of January, 2022, I started singing the Beatles’ song, “Here comes the sun.”
The temperature outside was -5 degrees Celsius (23 degrees Fahrenheit). I took a lonely evening walk wearing only summer clothes (including the www.adammazek.com t-shirt), and I felt that it was freezing cold. In the middle of my 35 minutes of walking, I sang the “Here Comes the Sun” song. Why? Because I started to imagine that it is the middle of the summer and the burning sun provides a heatwave to all creatures living on Earth. Did I get insane? Perhaps. Still, while I was humming and imagining hot summer days, I started to feel that all my internal guts began to get warmer immediately. It was the moment when I realized that we, humans, have unimaginable power of the mind.
I do my best to let this mysterious force be with me.
How is it possible that when I think of the sun while walking in freezing temperatures, I immediately feel warm up from my inner guts? Is this some kind of magic? Of course, whenever I do it, I mean when I expose my body to coldness, I breathe slowly. To be more precise: very slow. Undoubtedly, it is the proper way of respiring to overcome the surrounding frigid temperatures. Once I imagine that, indeed, “Here comes the sun,” the miracles happen within my body, mind, and soul. To this day, I cannot believe that I managed to overcome a feeling of cold. I have no doubts that the fact that I started intermittent fasting three months before I started to take regular cold showers helped me empower my attitude toward coldness.
I recommend, my Dear Friend, to begin intermittent fasting and taking cold showers without delay. If you still hesitate, better listen to the Beatles’ album, entitled “Abbey Road,” and imagine that the sun is within every one of us.
