Horror scene

October 5, 2019 by Adam Mazek

It was a sunny day in early spring, the beginning of April 2019. When I left the office to take pictures, I did not realize I would see a horror scene.

I mentioned in my previous posts that I love walking around old, ruined houses. Nearby the office where I worked is an old, destroyed building. Earlier, there was a fence that held me back to went there. But, probably during the winter, the wall was gone. Thus, I decided to go to the ruins and see what was going there. I did not know that I would see a horrible horror scene there.

When I wanted to enter this house, I saw that someone had deliberately put a dead cat near the entrance door, with a horrible grimace on their face.

As I already wrote, this view looked like a scene from a horror movie. I am convinced that someone killed the cat and put the corpse there to scare someone. If it is true, someone managed to accomplish one’s horrific aim.

Of course, after the first shock, I moved away from this house. The stink which appeared in my nostrils was also repellent and repugnant. I started to wonder if I should take a photograph of this cat. And you know what, my Dear Friend? I decided not to do this. I do not want to shock other people by showing them dead animals. Indeed, I possess some photographs which can reveal something similar to the corpses, but the fact is that I never saw a human’s dead body. Presenting the dead bodies of animals is also not my aim.

One of the aims of my artistic activity is the abstract play, thanks to which the viewer will think that they see the dead body (or something similar to it). Of course, it will be only an intentional trick of a photographer.

Thus, I did not take photographs of this dead cat; consequently, I will never publish it.
