I am getting older. The hot summer days of June 2019 took their toll.
I was writing this post on the 14th of June 2019. It was the first time in my life when I couldn’t go out to take pictures because of the hot summer days. The heatwave was so unbearable that even writing this post was a real challenge. What was worse, it was the sixth day in a row when I was not going out (except work in the office) from the house. I know that older people do not bear the heat.
Nevertheless, I did not know I was so old (thirty-four years old) that I could not walk during those burning-hot days.
During those days, I realized that I prefer walking through the streets of Warsaw when there is Siberian cold outside than when it is the African heatwave. When waking up after a muggy night, I feel exhausted during hot summer days. Even the tree’s shadow cannot relieve me enough from the burning sun. Also, the cap does not bring me too much comfort and relief. Luckily, the weather forecast for the 15th and 16th of June was good (the heat will be much lower), so I was planning to go out during the weekend to take photos. Pictures presented in this post are those of the 16th of June. I know that I was writing previously in my post that the weather should not be an excuse to take photographs.
Nevertheless, we all are people.
We all possess our weaknesses. What is worse, sometimes we cannot overwin them. Thus, I did not cry when I did not take photographs for six days. For consolation, I would add that during these hot summer days, I read my beloved Taschen books more frequently.
What about you, my Dear Friend? Do you like taking photographs on the streets during the heatwave? Or, maybe you prefer cold, as I do?
