How to change your mindset?

August 1, 2025 by Adam Mazek

Today (I wrote this text on the 3rd of October, 2024), I will provide some tips on changing your mindset.

I will start by mentioning the main components of my way of changing the mindset. I started with:

  • Intermittent fasting (since Christmas 2020, I haven’t eaten anything before 7 p.m. daily);
  • Cold showers (since April 2021, I have been taking freezing showers daily);
  • Exposing my body to the cold outside by walking in summer clothes in freezing temperatures (since Fall/Winter 2021/2022, I walk and do street photography wearing a t-shirt, shorts, sneakers, winter cap, and gloves);
  • Intermittent dry fasting (since the beginning of July 2024, I powered up my fasting method. I only drink water or coffee after 7 p.m. Also, I avoid processed food and focus on eating eggs, meat, vegetables, nuts, and cheese.);
  • Rucking (Since the 18th of August, 2024, I have been walking and taking street photographs with a heavy rucksack on my back and shoulders. I have added 12 kg [26 lbs] of barbell plates to my rucksack. I always aim to do at least 10k steps.)

All five activities mentioned above have one common issue.

By doing them, I stress my body, mind, and soul. After all, sitting and eating on a warm couch is something relaxing, contrary to walking with a heavy rucksack in freezing cold without eating and drinking anything before it. Undoubtedly, stressing your body can change your mindset, my Dear Friend. Before I started doing all these things, I would name myself as a weak, sweet chocolate bar who was afraid of adversities and challenges in life. Today, I feel more confident and robust, and I feel that I have better control of my life, my mood, and my behavior. I am not scared of anything. It is not the case that nothing can break my soul.

I think some things can truly harm me.

Still, I know that my tolerance limit for pain, challenges, difficulties, etc., has increased. Speaking shortly: I have the power and am not afraid of tomorrow. This journey of transformation is not easy, but it’s worth it. I hope my experience can inspire you to embark on your own journey of personal growth and transformation, because the rewards of personal growth are truly worth the effort.
