I won’t write about how to get closer to God in today’s post (I wrote it on the 14th of November, 2023).
Nevertheless, I believe George Harrison was the one who got closer to God. Did he do it after he died in 2001? Perhaps he did it. I do not know it. Still, the Beatles ‘ (written and performed by Harrison) song “Long, Long, Long” (from one of the greatest albums I’ve ever heard, “The Beatles” [known mainly as the “White Album”]) inspired me to write that George got closer to God after composing and singing this tune. For me, the song’s lyrics and melody are much about longing for someone (?) who cares for us and loves us.
When I first heard the “Long, Long, Long” song, I was sure it was about a woman. I was surprised when I realized George Harrison sang about God in this song. Today, I was humming the Beatles song when I was walking in cold temperatures (it was 8 degrees Celsius [46.4 degrees Fahrenheit]) in the www.adammazek.com t-shirt.
Moreover, after waking up, the soothing melody of the “Long, Long, Long” tune was floating in my head.
When I heard the song in my mind, I felt George Harrison got closer to God. When I realized that, while being a Beetle, George composed and sang such magical songs like “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” “Savoy Truffle” (both from the “White Album”), or “Something” and “Here Comes The Sun” (both from the “Abbey Road” album), I knew George Harrison was an artistic genius on the same level as John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The last statement does not mean Ringo Starr was not a genius.
After all, the last one composed or sang such marvelous Beatles songs like “With A Little Help From My Friends” (from the “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album), “Octopus’s Garden” (from the “Abbey Road” album), “Good Night” and “Don’t Pass Me By” (from the “White Album”) I know all the Beatles’ band members were geniuses. They all got closer to God (if one exists at all) by composing and playing such magical songs. I must go to sleep. Perhaps I will get closer to God in my dreams.
