How to write efficiently?

September 14, 2020 by Adam Mazek

Last time I realized that I could write a post on how to write efficiently.

Why I decided to raise this particular subject? Because I did not know what I want to write. What I knew is that I had to write anything because within the next one hour I will have to stop writing and go to my work at the office. I was merely bad on myself that I had a lack of inspiration. Suddenly, I realize one of the most crucial things regarding how to write efficiently. What was my conclusion?

It is the fact that if I have a limited time to write something (let’s call it a deadline, but it is not a usual deadline which we can meet at work in the office), my brain suddenly is starting to work on high speed. I suddenly, practically always, find a theme to write.

I know from a Taschen “D&AD. The Copy Book”, that some best copywriters are also the most effective and creative in their writings when the deadline is coming shortly. I also believe that a short timeframe is a crucial factor regarding effective writing. When I write a post before my office work, it can take up from twenty minutes to one hour to write a single post. During the weekend, when I know that I have much more time, I can spend even two hours writing a new text. Humans’ minds are quite a hard-to-describe mechanism that if they have stress (e.g., connected with an upcoming deadline), their brains are starting to work on magnificently high speed. Undoubtedly, there are some exceptions, for example, if the level of fear and pressure are too high. Still, I think that is a general rule.

To summarize, I want to stress that if you’re going to write efficiently, my Dear Friend, start to write within limited periods. Ok, I finish for today. I have to get up and begin to prepare for my office work.
