If I had to change my profession, I would become a Hunger Coach.
Does it mean I plan to change my profession? No, I do not plan to do it. Working in a broadly defined Finance allows me to remain an independent artist who does what I want to do without asking clients for their opinions. Today (I wrote this text on the 21st of January, 2024), tens of thousands of diet coaches exist in a broadly defined Western world. Still, are there any hunger coaches? I do not think so. I believe it is a niche on the market that someone could fill. Like I wrote at the beginning, I won’t fill this niche in the market.
Still, I think I could do it if I only wanted to do it. I would like to stress I am a practitioner of intermittent fasting, not a theorist.
If a client who would like to start the journey with fasting asked me questions about this topic, I would reply by describing my own experiences with fasting and providing answers from Dr. Jason Fung’s book. Would I have many clients as a Hunger Coach? I do not know. I think I would have a relatively small amount of clients. Why? Because I believe that in the modern day, people are focused on comfort. They want to sit in a warm place and eat. Paradoxically, I am not an exception. I love to lay on the couch in a warm room, write new texts (like this one), or eat pistachios.
Many other people want to enjoy their spare time with chips, chocolate, and a glass of beer or wine.
They cannot imagine their days without breakfast, dinner, or supper. Unfortunately, laziness and welfare slowly kill us. That’s why I follow the way of intermittent fasting, exposing my body to cold temperatures, walking (and doing street photography!), and hanging on the bar. The personal benefits of intermittent fasting are immense, and I believe it’s a lifestyle that can make us healthier, younger, and more robust. Remember, my Dear Friend, to stress your body controllably. You will become a healthier, younger, and more robust human.
