The Clash’s energizing song “Rudie Can’t Fail” inspired me to write this text.Â
If you have a lousy mood, my Dear Friend, google this song now and just listen to it. It brings great joy and motivates me to walk and do street photography. Part of the tune’s lyrics:
I went to the market to realize my soul
‘Cause what I need, I just don’t have
Reminded me that I do not have to go to the market to buy things to become happier. I do not seek happiness in food, cigarettes, and beer. The truth is that I do not want to be a thoughtless consumer addicted to eating processed food, smoking cigarettes, or drinking alcohol. Even though The Clash’s song is a ska masterpiece, I can’t entirely agree with them on the titled issue.
So how do I try to empower my body, mind, and soul? If you regularly read my blog, my Dear Friend, you know the answers.
For me, doing street photography, working out, intermittent fasting, and taking cold showers are crucial to empowering myself. I do not seek happiness in external, material things. I do not need the market to be happy. The truth is that I reject instant gratification by consuming sweets or drinking beer. I do not need it. Adam Mazek is a genuinely free man who is not enslaved by anyone or anything. I wrote this text on the 7th of July, 2022. It was a day when I did street photography. For me, walking and taking pictures of mundane reality is the essence of freedom. It symbolically reminds me that I, indeed, realize my soul while doing it. Fuck candies, chocolate bars, and shitty beer from which your stomach only explodes. Ok, I will finish writing this text and start listening to the “Rudie Can’t Fail” song.
