I find inspiration on the streets of Warsaw.

May 15, 2025 by Adam Mazek

The streets of Warsaw, with their unique blend of history and modernity, never fail to inspire me. Every time I do street photography, I find inspiration on the streets of Warsaw.

I wrote this text on the 30th of May, 2024. It was a day when I was doing street photography in my close Wygledow and Wierzbno neighborhoods in the Mokotow district. As usual, I walked on the same streets for the umpteenth time. Luckily, as usual, I found inspiration on Warsaw’s streets, not for the first time in my life. I already wrote a text stating that Warsaw is a labyrinth for me. Today, I realized it is a maze in which I can find many frames practically all the time. Each day is different. It is cliche. Still, it is pure truth that street photography has helped me to memorize. The streets of Warsaw are not just a backdrop for my photos. They are a part of me.

They hold my memories, my emotions, and my inspiration. They are my muse, my maze, and my endless void of vastness that I want to explore until my death. They are a part of my soul, and I am deeply connected to them.

I have no doubts that I will find inspiration on the streets of Warsaw until the end of my life. In today’s text, I will provide my photos from the photo walk taken on the 30th of May, 2024, just to share the simple joy of the fact I live. Indeed, I took more than two hundred photos. I do not take pictures to break my personal records. Still, the point is that I took many pictures, proving my enjoyment of the fact I can walk and live. Also, I took more than 11k steps. While writing all these things, I still cannot imagine how it is possible that all these things do not bore me.

Indeed, I have been doing street photography since October 2015.

It’s been almost nine years of regularly taking pictures on Warsaw’s streets, often in the same, repetitive places. The fact is that I love to walk. I cannot imagine living without walking. If I will be walking as long as my health lets me do it, why cannot I take pictures of everything that attracts my eyes? After all, in street photography, I trust. Once I’ve captured these moments, I spend time carefully selecting and editing the photos to bring out the essence of the scene and my emotional connection to it.
