I get nippy just from looking at you.

The last time I did street photography, I heard a passer-by say something like this: Aren’t you cold, Sir? I get nippy just from looking at you.

I’ve already written a text entitled “Talking to strangers.” I wrote there that talking to other passers-by is not my aim in doing street photography. Still, strangers sometimes speak to me or comment on what I do. If you read my blog regularly, my Dear Friend, undoubtedly, you know why other people comment on my outfit. It is because I walk in summer clothes in frigid temperatures. People stare at me in disbelief. That’s why some of them comment on what they see. Do I care about it? Not at all. The more I walk in summer clothes (including the www.adammazek.com t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers, but with a winter cap and gloves), the more I do not care about others’ opinions. That’s why when I hear comments like:

Aren’t you cold, Sir? I get nippy just from looking at you.

I just smile, reply that I’m OK, wish a good day, and walk further to explore my city photographically. The truth is I also smile at myself deep in my imagination. Why? Because I imagine many people think I got crazy. Then, I started to wonder who, in fact, got crazy. Those who expose their bodies to cold, or those who do not? I believe the second group got somewhat crazy. The more frequently I expose my body to cold, the more I am convinced it is worth doing. I feel better: my mind works better, I have better memory, and I sleep better (except for my professional issues). Undoubtedly, we should stress our bodies in a controlled way. Working out, intermittent fasting, and exposing the body to cold (including taking freezing showers) are the best ways to do it.
