I hope to write until I die.

November 20, 2024 by Adam Mazek

The more I note, the more I hope to write until I die.

The title of this text is a quotation from the post: “I believe that it is better to write anything than to note nothing.” The current text I wrote on the 28th of October, 2023. Post “I believe that it is better to write anything than to note nothing.” I published it on the 26th of October, 2023. It was not the first time in my creative career that my thoughts from the past inspired me to develop them into something new. Currently, I read not only Taschen, Phaidon, or Thames & Hudson publishing houses books published in English. Since the middle of September 2023, I have read Marcel Proust’s “In Search Of Lost Time” masterpiece. The latter book I read in my native language, Polish.

The truth is that not only Proust’s masterwork and publishing houses mentioned above books convinced me that I hope to write until I die.

Who are the other great writers who provided me many incentives to share my thoughts with a broad, English-speaking audience and readers? These are Lucies Annaeus Seneca (his “Dialogues,” which I read in 2017, inspired me to be a Stoic person; up till today, I still find much wisdom in this ancient masterwork), Fyodor Dostoyevsky (ten years ago, in 2013, I read almost all the Russian writer’s books translated into Polish) and Stanislaw Lem (his unimaginable imagination proved it is only our inventiveness that can prevent us from dreaming and writing about many unearthly things). The more I read, the more I want to write. The more I write, the more I want to continue it. That’s why I hope to write until I die. Keep your fingers crossed, my Dear Friend, for my dream. I keep my fingers crossed for your creative activity.

PS

As a testament to my dedication, I wrote the text above in just eighteen minutes. This is a small example of my unwavering commitment to writing, a commitment that I hope to uphold until the end of my days.
