Within the last few days, I managed not to write about war.
I wrote this text on the 20th of April, 2022. That day, I realized I had managed not to write about war. Still, I have no doubts that war in Ukraine will frequently appear in my mind and texts. Moreover, I can easily imagine that I will be describing many times „before the war” and „after the war.” Since the fucking Putin’s army attacked Ukraine world has changed forever, not only for me but also for millions of other Europeans.
Within the last few days, the Russian military focused on Donbas. All media news in Poland writes (I do not watch TV news anymore!) that the battle of Donbas will be decisive in the whole war. Even though I write less frequently about the war in Ukraine, I do not have to mention that I keep my fingers crossed for the Ukrainians, as much as I can, all the time.
I hope that Ukrainians will soon win the battle for Donbas (in the same way they already won the fight for Kyiv) and the whole war.
Thanks to the Ukrainians’ victory, I hope to reduce the number of writings about war constantly. I wrote this text at the beginning of the street photography season. The truth is that I enjoy walking in cold early spring days. I managed not to write about war because somehow I could not think about it, thanks to enjoying life. Still, I know that I owe Ukrainians writing my thoughts about the Russian invasion. Undoubtedly, I will return to this theme often, but I have other ideas to write down; I do the latter. Why? Because I know that I could write many insights about war. I do not want the www.adammazek.com blog to become another blog describing the current political situation. I want to focus on broadly defined creation, not war’s destructive issues.
