I walk, do street photography, and write. Thus, I live.

February 7, 2026 by Adam Mazek

The older I become, the more I feel and see that the broadly defined creativity makes me still alive and sane.

Also, intermittent fasting, taking cold showers, exposing my body to cold by walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures, and rucking, help me to remain at the top of my overall performance. Still, today (I wrote this text on the 14th of August, 2025), I will focus on a broadly defined creative process. The more I walk, write, and do street photography, the more I believe in these activities. Street photography, for me, is not just about capturing moments, but about finding beauty in the mundane, in the everyday life of Warsaw. It’s about seeing the world in a different light. Writing, on the other hand, is a way for me to express my thoughts and feelings, to understand myself and the world around me. I’ve been doing street photography on Warsaw’s streets since October 2015.

Moreover, I’ve been writing in a foreign language (please remember, my Dear Friend, I am a Pole) since May 2017 (four months later, I’ve launched the www.adammazek.com blog).

Thanks to doing all these things, I forgot what boredom was. How happy I am that I can devote most days of each year to these artistic endeavors. Street photography makes me fly. Also, writing helps me to realize my soul. I hope I will be doing all these activities until the end of my life. Sometimes I wonder how many years I will be able to walk/ruck and take pictures of mundane reality in Warsaw. Is 2065 a possible year? I hope it is. I would have been 80 years old that year. Sometimes I wonder how the world would change if that time were to come for me. How many new discoveries regarding the Universe will be uncovered?

How many existential puzzles would be solved?

The uncertainty of the future is both intriguing and exciting. I cannot wait for what it holds. I often find myself imagining the future of my creative pursuits. How will my photography and writing evolve? What new techniques and styles will I explore? How will the world around me change, and how will that influence my work? How many written texts and photographs would I have until 2065, or even going further? No one knows, but I sometimes imagine watching all my creative endeavors from up above and seeing all the fruits of my labor.
