I do not want to be famous. The truth is that I want to be unique.
I do not want fame to bother my creative activity. What I desire is to be appreciated among a small group of intelligent people. Of course, this does not mean that those who do not accept my artistic activity are not intelligent. I just want to find competent people with a similar sense of aesthetics. Many people would say that my aesthetics is the aesthetics of ugliness. Perhaps they are right. I tend to say that the uglier the place where I take photos, the more beautiful works appear. I believe that there are no wrong places to take pictures. For me, they can be more exciting or less attractive. The latter ones are, e.g., places visited by tourists. The first ones can be railways, streets without names, or paths where only the homeless and people with dogs are wandering. That’s I try to be unique.
I sometimes wonder if I am more photographer, writer, blogger, book designer, t-shirt designer, or perhaps an accountant.
Undoubtedly, working with numbers provides me with funds to be able to do all my creative stuff. Now I think that, perhaps, by working in the financial department and doing all this crazy shit that you can find here, on the www.adammazek.com website, is something that makes me unique? I will go further and state that each of us is unique. That’s how I realized while writing this text that I am already unique. Perhaps some of us are more likely to be unique, and others are not. Is wearing only a t-shirt in cold temperatures makes me unique? For many people, undoubtedly, yes. For a minority of them, there is nothing special in such activity. Thus, I suppose that whether I was unique or not, the future generations will judge.
