The older I am, the more I feel that the multiplication of physical goods, including money, does not lead to happiness.
It’s a journey of personal growth that leads to true happiness. If we can’t find happiness in ourselves, we will never find it outside. Of course, in the short term, our happiness level can rocket after winning easy money in the lottery. Still, the winner will remain human no matter how much cash hits his bank account. All people have their anxieties, unrest, disturbances, and sadness. No one is perfect. Even if someone makes an impression of being undefeated and powerful and that nothing would break him, I do not believe in this impression.
We are not demigods who can conquer everything.
I believe it is only up to us, not external factors, whether we feel joyful. Happiness is a choice. We do not need millions in bank accounts and fancy cars to feel happy. Wise people won’t be in a euphoric state of mind because of their state of having external things. Also, failures won’t make wise people unhappy. They know that something like failure is only the next step in development; it is a process of learning consisting of failures. That’s why we should keep our heads up once we lose or fail. Life goes on, and there will be another chance to win sooner or later.
Also, we should remember no matter what we think and do in our lives, everything will end with our death.
Isn’t life too short to constantly worry about everything we cannot influence? After all, even our thoughts we can influence minimally. Do not worry about anything, my Dear Friend, because everything is out of our control. Why should we worry about things we cannot control? I do not have an answer to this question. What I know is that happiness lies in ourselves, and it is the only place where we should seek it.
