This post refers to the post entitled “Mindless Consumerism” (written on the 15th of January, 2022). I wrote there that I was not born to earn and spend money.
Did something change since writing the “Mindless Consumerism” text? I wrote the current text on the 11th of October, 2022. We can easily calculate that it’s been almost ten months since I wrote the “Mindless Consumerism” text. I want to stress that nothing has changed regarding my attitude to money. In the meantime, I’ve changed my job. Still, I do not consider my existence focused on money earning and spending. Of course, I need money like all other people. I do not need it only to buy food or pay bills. Without money, there would not be the www.adammazek.com blog. That’s why I work to earn and spend money on many things.
Still, it is money that must serve me. I am not here for the money. Cash is in this world to help me.
I need to accomplish my aims, including artistic ones. Still, I cannot imagine focusing my existence on earning more and more and spending it more and more. I reject mindless consumerism, in which people live mainly to pay cash. Ads tell them they must buy and eat more things to be someone and the best. That’s bullshit. I do not see anything wrong in increasing wealth, but only if it does not become one’s existing aim. I want to encourage you, my Dear Friend, to earn money and to spend it, but I wish you to do it consciously.
Do not become a victim of the cruel capitalism that wants your work and cash.
I appeal to increase your wealth but do it only if you have concrete aims. Whether these aims are connected with your children or your passion, earn and spend, but remember you have a brain, mind, and imagination to think.
