Today I will write about imperfection. Why do I love it?
I like imperfection because I do not like perfection. I’m not striving for the latter. I don’t want perfectionism to rule my world. If I had to wait for ideal thoughts, I would never start a blog. Why? Because I will never be delighted with my photos and texts and all my artistic creations. There will always be something I can do better. That is why I ignore perfection, which is boring in its way. I want to do my work not so that it is better and better, but it would give me fun. We often hear that we should be perfect and make the job done excellently.
I believe that we should always do our best to get as close as possible to perfection.
Still, it is impossible to receive a state of perfection in a broadly defined way. That’s why I do like imperfection. When I see that something is imperfect, I know that it was done by a human, not Artificial Intelligence. By the way, did I already mentioned that everything that human creates (including AI) will never be perfect? That is my statement. I cannot imagine that we, the humans, will create something perfect. Imperfection was and will be an inseparable part of humans’ civilization until its final day.
That’s why I got used to weakness, and I merely accept it. If I did not accept imperfection as a fixed partner of my artistic activity, I would not create a www.adammazek.com web site. I know that both pictures, texts, “Diaries,” and sets of images (e.g., “Negation of the End,” “Earth Wars,” “Death,” or “Birds”) have a lot of imperfect things. Still, I love to do it, and I am convinced that imperfection makes them unique.
