In a world where everyone seeks a cozy, warm place full of food and stimuli from smartphones and Netflix, go the opposite.
I wrote this text on the 22nd of October, 2023. It was a day when I was doing street photography at 12 degrees Celsius (53.6 degrees Fahrenheit) in heavy rain. I wore summer clothes (including the www.adammazek.com t-shirt) and sandals. The truth is that I did not have anything waterproof. I did not see too many people walking and soaking. Everyone I saw wore winter coats and hid their bodies and heads under warm clothes, with hoodies at the forefront. When I saw all these things, I told myself:
In a world where everyone seeks a cozy, warm place full of food and stimuli from smartphones and Netflix, go the opposite.
While contemplating all these things, I realized I was wet like a dog. The wind was pretty harsh. Did I feel cold? Nope. Did I want to get back home to feel warm? Once again, no. I felt tremendous joy in going the opposite and feeling power because of my ability to accept cold air and rain without hesitation. Undoubtedly, thanks to exposing my body to such strange (as for those living in big cities) phenomena, I know I am strengthening not only my body but also my mind and soul. Do I watch TV? Only with my beloved Parents while being in Brok. Undoubtedly, I prefer to read books.
Did I write the last time I started to read Marcel Proust’s “In A Search Of Lost Time?”
It is a feast for my mind and soul. Practically every day, I watch some masterpieces in art books, mainly by Taschen. Still, on a day I soaked, I was in awe because I was watching truly Fall-like masterpieces made by mundane reality. If you open your eyes wide, my Dear Friend, miracles will start to happen in front of your eyes. In a world where few people cherish mundane reality, be like an artist who will find inspiration in a single stone, tree, or litter.
