I can influence others and my surroundings but cannot command them.
The older I am, the more I see I can influence others and my surroundings but cannot command them.
That’s why I believe the best thing we can do if we want to change the world is to change ourselves. Michael Jackson’s song, “Man In The Mirror,” reminded me of all these things. I manage this website with the hope I will influence someone positively. Still, I want to be something other than an influencer straight from Instagram. I do not care how many followers I will have. I want to give people hints, inspiration, or stimulus to develop their passion. The truth is that no matter what I do, I know I cannot command my readers. How happy I am that I am not like the fucking Putin who thinks he rules the world.
Moreover, I know I can influence others in a limited way. Is it OK for me?
Of course, it is. I cannot imagine that someone commands me. Only during times of war could be an exemption for me. Of course, when we have a professional career, there will always be a boss (or clients) who could command you what to do. It is true. Still, I write about influencing and controlling more broadly. If we do not like our job, we can always look for another one. I hope to influence others, but I must admit it is not the fundamental aim of my artistic activity.
The first thing is to develop myself and broaden my worldview. I do it by reading, walking, contemplating, doing street photography, and writing. You can find the mixed result of all these issues here, on the www.adammazek.com blog. If I influence someone, it would be good. If not, life goes on, and I think we should accept what fate brings us, no matter who will influence us in the future.
