Sometimes I think whether some of my photographs will become an inspiration in the future for me.
I have no doubts that my pictures will be an inspiration for other photographers, painters, sculptors, artists, etc. While watching my pictures, I see in my imagination how others transform, reinterpret, change and modify them to create their own unique works of art. Still, I sometimes wonder if my photographs would become an inspiration in the future for me. I often possess such thoughts that, indeed, my pictures can be an inspiration for drawings. Do I draw? No, I do not do it. Will I draw in the future? Perhaps. Sometimes I feel that I could draw something, but I do not do it because I do not have a talent and time. I know that such understanding is terrible. Still, the truth is that for today I do not draw.
Did my photos inspire me to write something? Yes, it already happened.
As one of the examples, I can give you a post named „Too much thinking will complicate your life.” Moreover, many works that I already presented here on the www.adammazek.com website were inspired by my photographs. These works are, for example: „Big Brother,” „Negation of the End,” or „Death.” Do I know an example of artists who were inspired by their own artworks? Yes. One of them is Gerhard Richter. Unlike most of his motifs, the source material for one of his paintings, named „Ema (Nude on a Staircase),” was taken from neither an illustrated magazine nor a private family album. German painter staged and photographed the model himself.
Then, he created a painting based on the color photograph. The image was shot one weekend on the staircase of Richter’s first studio, located in Dusseldorf. It presents his first wife at that time, Mrs. Marianne (Ema) Richter. I hope that I will draw more inspiration in the future from my own photographs. I feel deep in my soul that I should draw by being inspired by my own images.
