Robert Lewandowski of photography.

July 26, 2021 by Adam Mazek

Indeed, photography is not entirely accepted, unwanted “sister” of broadly understood art.

My goal is to contribute to the fact that photography does not have complexes in other art fields. The fact that there are many people who take pictures with their smartphones/phones every day, like teenagers massively playing football on European football fields, does not mean that you cannot be an artist in this field. Thus, I want to become Robert Lewandowski of photography. I can easily imagine that the average French appreciates legendary street photographers such as Henri-Cartier Bresson and Eugen Atget and great footballer Zinedine Zidane. Germany has Franz Beckenbauer and August Sander. The Brazilians will not say a bad word to Pele and Sebastiao Salgado.

On the other hand, the English certainly appreciate the craftsmanship of both Eadweard Muybridge and David Beckham.

And the Poles? I want to be for Polish photography, which Robert Lewandowski is for Polish football. Lewandowski is a titan of everyday work, a passionate discipline role model. Only through hard work can one discover in oneself an unconventional artist in any field. Millions will admire this craftsmanship. I am convinced that there is at least a spark of artistry in every human being. The question is, who will be able to light the flame from this spark. Then, like holding a torch, show the way to other lost souls. That’s why when I every time hear that photography is mass entertainment, not a different, specific kind of art, I do always remind that football is also a sport for the masses. Still, in both cases, there were, are, and, undoubtedly, will be geniuses who change the world. I want to be this kind of genius.

I want to reach the same level in photography as Robert Lewandowski did in football.

Will I accomplish this challenging task? I do not know. One of the differences between photography and football is that people admire footballers while they are playing. On the other hand, people praise many artists after their death.

Nevertheless, in this post, I want to stress that I hope to be admired worldwide in similar ways as footballer Lewandowski.
